Adoption names the work. It does not perform week two.

Learning outcomes
After this chapter, you should be able to:
- Keep the published access lines as the count already run.
- Tell an adopted week-two step apart from accounts already issued.
- Leave the shared-login finding in place until a later listing exists.
5.1 The signature starts the month. It does not finish Tuesday's task.
Chapter 4 records that the trustees adopt Ruth's four-week plan. Week two of that plan is the replacement of the shared donations login with individual accounts. A classmate treats the adoption as proof the replacement has happened, and wants the access note rewritten so every role shows a private login. The only listing in the file is the four-line print from lab_access.py. That print still describes the treasurer, the coordinator, the warehouse volunteer and the staff who need the rota. It does not describe a completed issuance of accounts. Ruth leaves the script alone. Week two remains a step on the adopted page, not a result she can already quote.
5.2 Worked example
Lesson table; scroll horizontally to read all columns →
| What someone cites | What the file holds | Decision |
|---|---|---|
| The trustees adopt the plan | A decision to follow the four weeks | Keep the adoption |
| "Week two is therefore finished." | No later access listing | Refuse |
| The four published role lines | The first run | Leave them |
| "Add a row for every new account." | The original dictionary | Refuse the edit |
Synthetic case. No new login is issued in this lesson. The four lines stay the verified run.
Errors and limits
Leaving week two open does not cancel the decision to replace the shared login. It refuses a result the file does not contain.
Apply
- EX051 — Which week finished? The trustees adopt the plan. Week two says the shared donations login will be replaced with individual accounts. The access print is still the four published lines. Has week two happened, and what happens to the script?
Show marking criteria
Rubric: 3 = adoption is not completion; the four lines stay; do not edit the script; do not add account rows;; 2 = the plan is adopted and the print stays;; 1 = one of those;; 0 = none.
