Learning outcomes

After this chapter, you should be able to:

  1. Say what the permission note allows and what it reserves.
  2. Keep the stop cases with Rosa.
  3. Leave the shop-calendar dates unprinted.

16.1 Permission is a signed limit. The calendar entry is not copied here.

Before any change, Mia writes a short note: which accounts she may look at, which changes she may make, such as turning on second steps, and which changes Rosa must do herself, such as anything involving payments. Rosa signs it. Mia keeps the signed note with her course notes. The signature lets Mia show she acted as asked. It does not let her cross into payments or into an investigation. If she suspects a break-in, sees a payment that looks wrong, or meets a message that threatens the shop, she stops, tells Rosa, and does not investigate alone. Rosa contacts the provider or the bank. Chapter 1 says Rosa agrees the week's dates and adds them to the shop calendar. Those dates are not printed. "Dates" as something a plan can have does not invent a day, a month, or a year for this shop. Finishing the checklist does not widen the note, and it does not move a stop case onto Mia's list of jobs. Working without the signature, even with good intentions, can cause confusion and harm. The file shows the signature. It does not show the calendar.

16.2 Worked example

Copy the boundary. Leave the unpublished days unpublished.

Element Shown? Decision
Rosa's signature Yes Keep it
Payments reserved to Rosa Yes Keep the reserve
Stop, then Rosa calls the provider or bank Yes Keep the stop
A calendar date Not printed Do not invent one

Synthetic case. The permission note is not reproduced as a filled form. The shop calendar stays off the page.

Errors and limits

An undated signature can still limit the work. Missing days do not make a payment change into Mia's task.
