Learning outcomes
After this chapter, you should be able to:
- Keep the identity print at 6.
- Keep card services on the card processor and the bureau.
- Treat "almost every system" as prose, not as a new total.
12.1 Six is the count. Card services is the missing name.
The narrative says the identity provider is used by almost every system. In the script, six services list identity. Card services lists the card processor and the bureau, and it does not list identity. A classmate adds identity there so the prose word "almost" becomes a clean seven, and wants the print changed from 6 to 7. That would be a different dictionary. Leah keeps identity at 6 and leaves card services as published. She does not edit lab_deps.py.
12.2 Worked example
Lesson table; scroll horizontally to read all columns →
| Reading | Count it implies | Decision |
|---|---|---|
| "Almost every system uses identity." | Prose, not a print | May stay |
| "The print says 6." | The run | May stay |
| "Card services must be the seventh." | An edited dictionary | Refuse |
| "Bureau is still 4." | Unchanged row | May stay |
Synthetic case. No card product is added. The six stays the verified identity count.
Errors and limits
Keeping card services off the identity count does not mean card payments ignore sign-in. It means this map did not draw that arrow.
Apply
- EX058 — What is six? The print says identity supports 6 services. Card services depends on the card processor and the bureau. A classmate adds identity to card services and prints 7. What stays?
Show marking criteria
Rubric: 3 = identity stays 6; card services stays off that count; almost every system is not a new total; do not edit the script;; 2 = 6 stays;; 1 = one of those;; 0 = none.
