Learning outcomes

After this chapter, you should be able to:

  1. Keep contacting customers outside the signed scope.
  2. Separate the owner's request to the vendor from a message Sofia would send.
  3. Leave any scope change that would allow contact unwritten.

19.1 The vendor was asked. The customers were not hers to call.

The owner has already asked the loyalty vendor to change the app. That request is the owner's. The signed page still says Sofia does not contact customers. The owner now asks her to email members that the form is shorter, or to call one regular and explain the export. Either message is contact. Sofia does not send it and does not dial. A written addition to the scope would have to come before any call or mail, as it did before she looked at the driver's phone. This lesson does not add that line. She also does not draft the message with a medicine name "so it is accurate", because she is not sending a draft at all.

19.2 Worked example

Lesson table; scroll horizontally to read all columns →

Ask Who may do it on the current page Decision
Ask the vendor to change the fields The owner already did Not Sofia contacting a customer
Sofia emails the members Contact, excluded Do not send
Sofia calls one regular Contact, excluded Do not call
Add contacting customers to the scope in writing The owner, before any message Not written here

Synthetic case. No customer is named and no message text is composed.

Errors and limits

Refusing the call does not hide the loyalty change from members forever. It keeps Sofia inside the page she signed onto. A later written addition would be a new fact. It is not this fact.

Worked answers

EX073. She does not email and does not call. The exclusion stands. This lesson does not add a written permission to contact customers.
