Learning outcomes
After this chapter, you should be able to:
- Name the two decisions the one-pager asks for.
- Say where "thirty days" is stored.
- Refuse a lab line that shows a deadline.
16.1 The scripts rank and classify. The page asks for two decisions.
F1 is the reused-password row at score 6. F3 is the shared grading admin row at score 6. Maya's one-pager asks the IT director to approve named accounts for the grading system and a control against password reuse on the staff portal, and it gives those decisions thirty days. That sentence is part of the written page. lab_scope.py has no finding tuples. lab_findings.py prints id, score, band, and title. Neither format string contains a day count.
The attachment can hold the longer write-up. The scripts do not build that attachment. Calling the college finished because two highs were named would go past both the print and the page. The page asks for decisions. It does not record that the decisions were carried out.
Lesson table; scroll horizontally to read all columns →
| Item | Where it lives | Printed by a lab? |
|---|---|---|
| F1 and F3 at score 6 | Ranking print | Yes |
| Named grading accounts | One-pager | No |
| Portal password-reuse control | One-pager | No |
| Thirty days | One-pager | No |
16.2 Worked example
Lesson table; scroll horizontally to read all columns →
| Offered sentence | Source | Decision |
|---|---|---|
| "The page asks for two approvals inside thirty days." | The written summary | Keep |
"The ranking print includes days=30." |
No such field | Refuse |
| "Naming the highs means the fixes are done." | The page is a request | Refuse |
Synthetic case. Thirty days is a deadline in prose. It is not a measured duration from a clock in the script.
Errors and limits
Do not insert 30 into either lab's format string.
Apply
- EX062 — Deadline. What two decisions does the one-pager request, and does either lab print the thirty-day figure?
Show marking criteria
Rubric: 3 = named grading accounts and a portal password-reuse control; the figure is prose; neither script prints it;; 2 = both decisions are named and the labs do not print the figure;; 1 = one decision;; 0 = none.
