The meeting chooses practice. It does not choose policy.

Logical drawing

monthly routine: one ten-minute session
topics come from staff questions
this month's question: skip the call when the email looks normal

+-- rehearse the call the clinic already knows
+-- do not ballot the rule
    +-- a session note is not a change-log amendment

Learning outcomes

After this chapter, you should be able to:

  1. Turn a staff question into the month's ten-minute practice without amending the rule.
  2. Refuse a vote, or a session note, as a substitute for Dr. Moss's written change.
  3. Leave the phone-back rule in force after the meeting.

19.1 Practice is the authority the slot actually has

Sofia chose short sessions because a clinic of this size remembers a relevant ten minutes better than a long annual lecture. Topics come from questions staff ask. This month the question is whether an email that looks like a normal supplier note can skip the call to a number the clinic already holds. Chapter 9 already applied the rule to a later message. The new point is the meeting's power. The people in the room can practise the pause. They cannot retire the rule by agreement among themselves. Dr. Moss has not written a narrower rule. A line in the session list that says "staff agreed to skip normal emails" would be a topic note pretending to be a control change.

Sofia spends the ten minutes on one rehearsal: find the held number, call it, and keep the second person's approval behind that call. She does not take a vote.

19.2 Worked example

Lesson table; scroll horizontally to read all columns →

What the session produces Authority it has Decision
Staff can demonstrate the held-number call Practice Accept as the month's session
"We all think normal emails are fine." A mood, not a written change The rule stands
A topic-list entry claiming the rule was shortened The list records what was practised Rewrite it as practice, or delete the claim
Dr. Moss later writes a different rule She is the owner who must agree settings Only that writing changes the rule

Synthetic case. The session does not contain a real supplier number.

Errors and limits

Keeping the rule does not answer how long old invoices are stored. That question remains the reason the next course is data governance. A finished rehearsal is also not this month's restore test.

Worked answers

EX073. The ten minutes rehearse a call to the number the clinic already holds, with approval still behind that call. A vote or a topic-list sentence does not shorten the rule. Dr. Moss has not written a narrower rule.
