Learning outcomes
After this chapter, you should be able to:
- Keep the one-month lead time.
- Keep the website certificate on the calendar.
- Leave every date and the renewal itself unprinted.
14.1 The lead time is a rule. The date is absent.
Inês keeps a calendar of expiry dates and sets reminders a month ahead, even when a supplier renews automatically. The worked example says Leo adds the website certificate to that calendar. Last year's silent failure is why the habit exists. The book still does not print the certificate's end date, the reminder's date, or a sentence that the host has renewed it. A classmate who writes a day and a month is decorating the page. A classmate who says "added, therefore renewed" confuses Leo's row with the host's job. The row can stand. The dates stay out. The renewal stays unconfirmed.

| What someone cites | What the file holds | Decision |
|---|---|---|
| Reminders a month ahead | Inês's habit | Keep the lead time |
| Website certificate added | The worked example | Keep the row |
| An expiry date | Not printed | Refuse |
| "The host has renewed it." | Not shown | Refuse |
Synthetic case. No calendar day is chosen in this lesson.
Errors and limits
An undated row can still be a useful row. Usefulness is not a date.
Apply
- EX060 — Which day? Reminders come a month before expiry. Leo adds the website certificate to the calendar. What expiry date do you write, and has the host renewed it?
