## Chapter 14 — F2 is the product two times one

### Lesson map

Lesson 14. Map, example, EX060.

```mermaid
flowchart TD
  L["likelihood 2"] --> P["product 2"]
  I["impact 1"] --> P
  P --> B["low"]
  B --> R["last line"]
```

The banner title does not store a score. The last two numbers do.

### Logical drawing

```text
F2
  likelihood 2
  impact 1
  product 2
  band low
  printed last
```

### Learning outcomes

After this chapter, you should be able to:

1. Multiply F2's two ratings.
2. Say why that product is `low`.
3. Refuse a reading that treats the banner words as the score.

### 14.1 Index 2 is 2. Index 3 is 1. The product is the whole score.

F2's tuple is `("F2", "Old web server banner shows version", 2, 1)`. Likelihood 2 times impact 1 is 2. Two fails both `>= 6` and `>= 4`, so the word is `low`. The key `(-2, "F2")` is the greatest of the four first-components once the minus is applied, meaning it sorts last. The title is evidence language for the page. It is not an integer, and the lambda does not parse it.

A version banner can still matter to an owner. This script does not measure that. It multiplies the two ratings Maya stored. Changing the title without changing `2, 1` would leave the line's score and band alone.

| Field | F2's value | Used in the product? |
|---|---|---|
| Id | F2 | Only as the tie key |
| Title | Old web server banner shows version | No |
| Likelihood | 2 | Yes |
| Impact | 1 | Yes |

### 14.2 Worked example

| Offered claim | Arithmetic | Decision |
|---|---|---|
| "Score 2, band low, last line." | `2 * 1`, then the thresholds, then the key | Keep |
| "The word banner lowers the score by itself." | The integers are the product | Refuse |
| "F2 is medium because 2 is a small high." | 2 fails `>= 4` | Refuse |

> **Synthetic case.** F2 is one tuple. Its harm is not re-scored in the script.

### Errors and limits

Do not edit F2's title and expect the product to move.

### Apply

- **EX060 — Product two.** How does F2 arrive at score 2 and the word `low`? *Rubric:* 3 = likelihood 2 times impact 1 is 2; 2 fails both thresholds, so the word is `low`; the title is not the arithmetic;; 2 = the product is 2 and the band is low;; 1 = one number;; 0 = none.

## Worked answers

<a id="answer-ex060"></a>
**EX060.** Likelihood 2 times impact 1 is 2. That product fails both thresholds, so the word is `low`. The title is not the arithmetic.
