P["Five actions, one meeting moved a week"] --> Q{"Does the notebook date the explanation?"}
Q -->|No| R["The fifth action stays open"]
Q -->|Yes| S["Cite that date. Do not reopen a finished meeting"]
Moving a date records a delay. It does not deliver the explanation.
Logical drawing
plan pinned beside the rules
four actions dated as done
staff meeting shifted to the next week
|
+-- the plan still has five lines
+-- staff have not heard the rules until the meeting is held
+-- striking the line would hide the delay
Learning outcomes
After this chapter, you should be able to:
- Keep the staff-meeting action on the plan while the notebook has no meeting date.
- Refuse to delete that line so the month looks finished.
- Tell a calendar change apart from an explanation the staff have heard.
5.1 The fifth line is still a line
Chapter 4 closed the month with four actions done and the staff explanation moved to the following week. A classmate wants the pinned plan rewritten as four actions, because four-out-of-four looks complete. The rewrite would erase the delay Mrs. Adeyemi can see. Kwame leaves the fifth line where it is. The meeting, when it happens, gets a date in the notebook beside the rules. Until that date exists, staff who were not in the room where he drafted the page have not been shown the rules as a group.
5.2 Worked example
Lesson table; scroll horizontally to read all columns →
| What someone points to | What it shows | Decision |
|---|---|---|
| "The meeting was moved." | A new intended week | The action stays open |
| "Four actions are ticked." | Those four have dates | Do not retitle the plan as four actions |
| "Staff already work here, so they know." | Presence is not the meeting | Wait for the dated explanation |
| A notebook line with the meeting date | The explanation happened | Cite that line |
Synthetic case. This lesson does not invent the meeting date. The slip stays the slip from Chapter 4.
Errors and limits
Holding the meeting later does not change the signed rules. What the meeting is allowed to decide is a later lesson. This chapter also does not set a legal deadline for training.
Apply
- EX059 — Four out of five. The pinned plan shows four dated actions and a staff meeting moved to the next week. No notebook line dates the explanation. May the plan be rewritten as four actions, and what remains unfinished?
Show marking criteria
Rubric: 3 = do not drop the fifth line; the explanation is unfinished until the notebook dates it; a moved week is not that date;; 2 = keep the line and refuse the rewrite;; 1 = one of those;; 0 = none.
