11.1 A check can be real and still unpublished.
Chapter 1 gives the library two staff laptops. Chapter 3 says built-in disk encryption means a stolen laptop does not expose its files. The worked example says Leo checks two laptops for disk encryption, inside the signed note. It stops there. No line says both were on. No line says one was off. No serial number, asset tag, or staff name is attached to either machine. A classmate who writes "2 of 2 on" has composed a print this book never ran. The purpose sentence explains why the control matters. It does not report what Leo saw. He does not add a results row the chapter never showed.

Errors and limits
Saying the purpose aloud does not create an on/off line, and a missing line is not a failure.
